The word invest, does not necessarily mean putting money into financial schemes, shares, properties or financial venture with the expectation of achieving a profit. But rather, it also means to provide. We can also invest on people not just things relationships as well if we have one, and so on. But more importantly, you can invest in yourself.
According to the billionaire investor Warren Buffet the best investment you can make; are one you cannot beat, can’t be taxed; and not even inflation can take away from you. The one investment that exceeds all the rest: Investment in yourself.
Without working on ourselves, to try to improve every day, would be surreal for us to expect a divergent future from the one we have right now. It would also be impractical for us to be a better version of ourselves in the future, for the fact that we will not be any different tomorrow that the person we are today, by not doing anything.
This is why the best place to provide your time and money is to yourself. The endeavor you put into consistently improving yourself will play a colossal role in determining the life you have now and the future ahead of you. There is no magic spell in life to get you from point a to point b. No improvement in your lives that magically happens overnight. If we want to get better, we have to work for it. Simply because, if you don’t? Who else will? No one is exempt to this rule. Take some action to better yourself. There are endless ways you can do and not all of them has to be complicated. All you need is time, because time as always is of the essence.
Once it goes, there is no taking it back. So make sure that while it is going, you are doing something you can take from it, as it goes by.
It is easier to say it than to do it, some may argue. Let me remind you that, if there is a will, there is a way and if you don’t, there is always a never ending litany of excuses.
Saying yes and making that initial investment to yourself can boost your confidence tremendously. Who else should do it but yourself? Because at the end of the day we are worth it. It is a failure to believe otherwise. And if we don’t put ourselves outside our comfort zone, we will never be able to grow as an individual. We will never be able to see our full potential to evolve into something we never know possible or even existed. Is thinking “what if?” what you want in the future? The good news is, it is never too late.
